The title track to the Sunny Days album became one of Lighthouse's two Top 40 hits, peaking at number 34 in November of 1972. Sunny Days was the band's seventh album, yet their full-scale sound and spirited rock & roll style was still very much intact.
Sunny days" was to all intents and purposes the last great album by Lighthouse. While many of the songs err towards simplicity in structure, there is plenty in the way of strong arrangements and inspired performances. In the UK, the album was only the second to be released on the newly formed Mooncrest record label, the first being Nazareth's "Razamanaz".

Sunny Days Again is a commendable compilation, which includes all of their best tracks, headlined by One Fine Morning; which gave them their first Top 40 hit in 1971, and the two-speed tempo of Sunny Days; that debuted their rich, multi-dimensioned sound. Lead singer Bob McBride flaunts his vocal range on You Girl while Pretty Lady; shuffles along as a slick pop/rock number with horns on both side of the chorus. Even the more guitar-oriented pieces like; Take It Slow; and; Broken Guitar Blues; have something to offer in their slick rhythms and blues-based purity . I was so nostalgic, that I bought this album thinking that I only remember one song, but it should all be good.
For Lighthouse's 40th anniversary, Ole/Universal Records released 40 Years of Sunny Days, a retrospective of their biggest hits, featuring digitally remastered tracks, and a DVD of new performances recorded at Q Music in . Surround Sound. On July 19, 2013, it was announced that the band would be appearing on the second annual Moody Blues Cruise in April, 2014 on the cruise ship MSC Ship Divina.
