Energetic Earthy Organic Earnest Rousing Passionate Bittersweet Celebratory Poignant Playful. Traditional Music from Cape Breton Island. Traditional Music From Cape Breton Island is a lively set of Scottish-influenced reels, jigs, and marches recorded before a live audience at the 1993 Cork University Traditional Music Festival. And while Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, is filled stem to stern with talented musicians, the array of talent here is nevertheless striking.
Northumberland is a land of peace and solitude. The wide open spaces of the Northumberland National Park provide a landscape of seemingly endless beauty, from the astonishing engineering feat of Hadrian's wall, to the breathtaking Cheviot Hills. It offers something for everyone; walkers, nature lovers, photographers, artists and landscape enthusiasts. Bamburgh Castle (by Jonathan Cannon). Northumberland is the most northerly English county. The eastern coast, is low lying and sandy, behind which lies a wide coastal plain. The north provides much rich grazing land, and further west a bare.

Various Northumberland Rant. Published Dec 01, 1999. The lyrical Archie’s Fancy/Holey Ha’penny opens this anthology of 21 instrumental performances. It’s the first of 13 a cappella examples of the Northumbrian small pipes, a miniature hand-squeezed bagpipe that sounds like a cross between the Scottish bagpipes and an accordion. Chris Ormston, Jack Amstrong, Anthony Robb, Pauline Cato, Joe Hutton and Colin Ross also make rich music on this unique instrument, although only Anthony Robb’s multi-tracked Lament for Ian Dickson and Kathryn Tickell’s quartet performance of Mr. Nelson’s Birthday Waltz can equal the magic of Billy Pigg’s opening piece.
