Concerto for Piano and Orchestra no. 503: III. Allegretto. 2. Concerto for Piano and Orchestra no. 503: II. Andante. 3. Ludwig van Beethoven. 4 in G major, op. 58: II. Andante con moto. 503: I. 5. 58: III. Rondo. 25 (Mozart). George Szell (/ˈsɛl/; June 7, 1897 – July 30, 1970), originally György Széll, György Endre Szél, or Georg Szell, was a Hungarian-born American conductor and composer. He is widely considered one of the twentieth century's greatest conductors. The Piano Concerto No. 503, was completed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart on December 4, 1786, alongside the Prague Symphony, K. 504. Although two more concertos (K. 537 and K. 595) would later follow, this work is the last of the twelve great piano concertos written in Vienna between 1784 and 1786. The K. 503 concerto has long been neglected in favor of Mozart's more "brilliant" concertos, such as K. 467.
