Typically this repetition occurs at the end of the words, but may also be found within a word or at the beginning. Pairs of Consonance Examples. There is no right time to imitate the teacher. He thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts. Norm, the worm, took the garden by a storm this morn. The best tracks in the album are the least techno-fied. Come On In," a solo shot, and the down-and-dirty "Just Like a Woman" has a non-trip-hopped Burnside mining tough riffs for all their emotion. Let My Baby Ride" with a stomping, looped beat, is still recognizable as Burnside and works well. On the other hand, "Don't Stop Honey" and "It's Bad You Know" take the techno tampering too far, and the results are feckless shells of what were once gritty blues.

Consonance is typically used to refer to the repetition of ending sounds that are consonants, but it can refer to repetition of consonant sounds within the word as well. Often, consonance is used to create a rhyme or cadence. Consonance differs from alliteration and assonance. Alliteration, remember, is the repetition of a sound at the beginning of a word. Assonance is the repetition of a vowel sound. Pitter Patter, Pitter Patter-repetition of the "t," and "r" sounds. The lint was sent with the tent-repetition of the "nt" sound. I think I like the pink kite-repetition of the "k" sound. 4. I held my nose in the breeze so I would not sneeze on your knees-repetition of the "z" sound (caused by "z" and "s"). 5. Her foot left a print on the carpet-repetition of the "t" sound. 6. Odds and ends-repetition of the "d" and "s" sounds. Examples of Consonance in Literature

This is a great gospel cd. I never heard of this group before, and I thought I knew all of the good gospel groups. They have some traditional quartet songs that are excellent, spirit-filled performances. "Come On In This House" kicks off the CD with high energy performances that I really loved. "Shake Loose Christians" is similar, but provides you with 7 minutes of foot stomping gospel. But they also have some blues-inspired cuts that are slamming. The lead guitar solos are way above what you would expect from a gospel group. And they are creatively titled, Good News Blues #1,2 and 3!!!!! Recording jazz artist Lloyd Gregory, stepped out of his normal jazz genre and gave two sizzling performances on "Good New Blues #1 and #3. Blues lovers will be in awe and will love these hot tracks. But that's not the total story. The group has some R&B inspired cuts like, "Stay With Me" and "My Song" that let you know their roots. And the arrangements are impeccably gifted. The harmony is very tight and the lead singers offer inspiring performances. Moreover, "My Song" gives you a 7 minute track with an awesome extended guitar by Levi Seacer, formally with Prince And The New Revolution. This is a song you need to hear. But thats not the end."Cover Me" provides contrasting lead singers with a Reagge beat that is infectious. Then there is the dance inspired, "Do The Right Thang". The lyrics of this song chronicles a young boy aging with the challenges of life. But the nuance is the song makes you want to get your dance partner and start doing the Chicago step or the Electric Slide. It is a rare gospel composition that is not what you expect from a gospel quartet. In fact, the entire CD is a creative endeavor that does not have a filler tract on the entire CD. The last cut, "U Got To Stay Holy", is a chant/rap song that highlightes the group's innovative style. The performances are excellent and create an unforgettably catchy song. Other hot tracks are "Close To You", which has some excellent guitar work by Levi Seacer. "It's Time To Praise The Lord" is filled with very tight harmonies and a great arrangement. The shortest song on the CD is "That Man". But don't be fooled by its length because the song glorifies the sacrifice of Jesus in a country and western motif that is really touching. And, "Surely God Is Real" is a funky, old school number that rocks you with its chant of, "Ain't No Party Like A Holy Gost Party". Overall, the listeners of this CD will find it to have excellent musicianship and vocal performances. I think it is a cd that gospel and secular music lovers will enjoy.
I loved this cd. The traditional gospel genre has a new twist on it for sure. Consonance is a wonderful group of gifted musicians who deliver a soulful, innovative and uplifting performance on each cut of the cd.The title track, "Come On In This House", is hot. The traditional feel of the song is obvious, but this is not your typical gospel quartet song. It has two lead singers that vary in style but blend in their interpretation of the song and the music is spot on. And the slow jams are awesome. "it's Time To Praise The Lord", "Stay With Me", "That Man" and "Good News Blues #2" and "My Song" are R&B inspired praise songs that will certainly. The guitar solo on "My Song" is special. There are three performances that the group calls Good News Blues songs on this cd. Each of them remind you of the old blues masters, but make no doubt about it they are gospel songs. "Good News Blues #3" has that Elmore James/Robert Johnson guitar riff that has stood the test of time in blues songs over the last 80 years. You will love it.But this ain't the end of surprises on this cd. "Do The Right Thang" is a spritely dance number that will have the steppers up and doing their thang!!! Also, "Cover Me" will make it hard for you stay in your seat with it's dance inspired Reggae beat. And this song has three lead singers that give you verses that depict the sign of the times. Oh and don't forget, "Hold Me Jesus" with guest artist Minister Marvin Webb. This is a song that will have the electric sliders lined up to praise the Lord for sure. The group lets you know they can bring it home like any of the known professional gospel quartets. "Shake Loose Christians" is a 7 minute pulpit jumping song that has so many lyrics that you are impressed with the writer of this song. Then, "Close To You" hits you with some hot lead guitar work and some horn riffs that knock the roof off. Plus the message is right on time for the conditions we are experiencing today."Surely God Is Real" gives you that Al Green/DeAngelo feel. It rocks with the hip beat and riffs you get throughout the song. it is very nice. The last cut on the album, "You Got To Stay Holy", is just a bass and handclaps, but the performances are exceptional. Guest artists, Lisa Shah and Saeed Williams propel this song into a toe-tapping mantra that has a deft rap at the end.Go get this cd if you don't believe me. You will smile as you listen to each cut on it.
I got mad respect for these brothers. Consonance is the real deal. I bought two copies of Come On In This House, one or me and one for my parents. They love good quartet singing and they love this cd even though it's not like most quartet singers. In Tennesee we know good singing, and this cd is full of great singing. Take it from me, this is one hot gospel disk.
Great album. Excellent voices and the music is very, very good. This group is a bit different from your typical gospel group. But they can bring it with the best of them. I enjoyed all the tunes on the cd.
