Salvatore Accardo is an Italian violinist and conductor, who is known for his interpretations of the works of Niccolò Paganini. Accardo studied violin in the southern Italian city of Naples in the 1950s. He gave his first professional recital at the age of 13 performing Paganini's Capricci. In 1958 Accardo became the first prize winner of the Paganini Competition in Genoa. He has recorded Paganini's 24 Caprices for solo violin and was the first violinist to record all six of the violin concerti by Paganini. Ali Tajvidi was an Iranian musician, composer, violinist, songwriter, and music professor at the School of National Music and Tehran University. He composed more than 150 songs and discovered and produced for many Persian performers such as Delkash and Hayedeh. He was born in Tehran, where his father was active as a painter in the style of Kamal-ol-Molk.

On this extensive album, Accardo brings to life all of Paganini's caprices for violin as well as all of his violin concertos which showcase Accardo's years of studying and ultimately mastering these challenging pieces. Of course for young violinists, it is always a challenge to be able to play the 24 Caprices, but as I got older I understood that what was important in his music was its almost operatic qualities. 96 kHz, 24-bit PCM – DG CD Studio Masters
I thought it was about time I wrote a few words in tribute to one of my all-time favourite violinists, Salvatore Accardo. He has enjoyed a very long and distinguished career as a performer and recording artist. Most recently he has enjoyed a string of releases on the superb Fone record label, often with Orchestra de Camera Italiana, which he also directs. Accardo isn't one of those violinists who seek to dazzle you with superficial pyrotechnics. He just plays very honestly, musically, effortlessly, and from the heart to my ears.
