This is the finest album from Michael Hedges, the man who is responsible for the greatest revolution in solo acoustic guitar playing since Leo Kottke. There are moments on Aerial Boundaries where it seems literally impossible that so much music is coming from one man and his guitar. Attacking his instrument, snapping strings, banging on the fingerboard with his right hand, Hedges plays supremely beautiful music with the technique of a deranged lunatic

This album is a must have for anyone who likes excellent guitar playing. By far his best album, Michael Hedges pulled out all the stops on this one. It is hard to pick a favorite, but the title track and Rickover's Dream are just two of the outstanding songs on this album. Hedges is a talent that will be missed. Be thankful we have this album to remember how great his guitar playing was. This is an essential album.

A lovely, enchanting album of "acoustic guitar music" that transcends the genre descriptor. Wide-ranging and interesting. Recommended!

An absolute, stunning masterpiece of solo guitar playing that had all of us poor sap guitarists going down this rabbit hole for close to 30 years before other guitarists could actually pull this off without sounding like a state fair sideshow. Hedges did it first, and set the bar impossibly high. If you're a guitar player this is is an essential listen. One of the best guitar records ever, ever. You don't have to master his style (not likely anyway), but it should be in your tool box. And for you non guitar types, if you're open minded you might be extremely pleasantly surprised at what a mellow and fulfilling listen this is. I've been listening to this for 33 years and I'm still not tired of it. Know it. Love it.
