Watertower Tracklist.

Consumer Guide Album. Michael Hurley: Watertower His core audience couldn't be much over 2000, and since I'm on its fringe, I don't much care that this typically unheralded, offhand, and tardy acoustic collection will make no converts. He still writes more calmly and curiously about the great beyond than anyone. What's more "Broadcasting the Blues" and "I Paint a Design," break thematic ground-television and professionalism, respectively.

Michael Hurley is charming, original, and truly inconsistent. I love him in principle but it's hard to find an album of his without serious clunkers, remakes, re-remakes, or even remakes of clunkers. Have Moicy exerted some discipline on him which was never to return. Watertower and Snockgrass contain the highest ratio of great material to OK material. I favor this one. Standouts for me are "I Still Could Not Forget You Then," though maybe it's a little too cute.

Michael Hurley (born December 20, 1941) is an American folk singer who was essential to the Greenwich Village folk music scene of the 1960s and 1970s. In addition to playing a wide variety of instruments, Hurley is also a cartoonist and a painter. Hurley's music has been described as "outsider folk". Before starting his recording career Hurley contracted mononucleosis and needed to wait several years until he could sign to a record label.
