It's getting warm here. The temperature as of late has been cold. It's getting warmer here. The temperatures have been cold or warm, but are now getting "warmer" than they have been. Similar constructs can be made for "hot" and "dark. The other half of the half-hearted, feeble explanation is that in any given context I understand high temperature or low temperature implicitly. So if I am talking about me, high temperature is anything over 38 degrees. If I am talking cooking in the oven, high temperature is probably over 200 degrees.

Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit is the debut studio album by Australian indie rock musician Courtney Barnett, released on 20 March 2015. The album received wide acclaim and was ranked as one of the best albums of 2015 by numerous publications. After playing with various bands in Melbourne, Barnett used money that she had borrowed from her grandmother to start her own Milk Records label and released her first EP, I've Got a Friend Called Emily Ferris (2012).

2x Ho and i'm just getting warm(4x) . Ho and i'm just getting warm 4x.

Barnett’s debut album follows her earlier EPs I’ve Got A Friend Called Emily Ferris and How To Carve A Carrot Into A Rose. It was finished in the spring of 2014, but not immediately released because it takes her a long time to make decisions, Barnett said of her growth in the songwriting department: The determination to write an awesome, perfect song wasn’t there, which is what I had been doing up until then: trying to write a song that everyone would like. The album title is inspired by a ‘73 blacklight poster in Barnett’s grandmother’s bathroom that she used to stare at when she was a kid. The quote is originally from .

Listen to the album in full right now via Pitchfork Advance. Barnett is as bone-dry over the phone as she is in her songs. When I reach her in late August, she's about to embark on the largest tour of her career, which will bring her to New York in this month. The first thing I made last year was this EP called I've Got a Friend Called Emily Ferris that I recorded at a friend's place, and then I took a whole year to finish the second EP, which was recorded in a studio. Doing these two EPs feels like good practice.
