Rachmaninov soothes afte darkness of Scriabin. Classic FM's Jane Jones is overwhelmed by Scriabin's overly ambitious Symphony N. but finds solace in Rachmaninov’s six choruses. The idealistic dreams of youth, the glorification of art through music and personal conviction merge together in this long, overly ambitious first symphony from Scriabin

Valery Polyansky (Art Director and Chief Conductor). Valeri Polyansky was born in 1949 in Moscow. After completing the musical college Polyansky enters the Moscow Conservatoire, starting his studies with professor . Kulikov (choral conducting). At this time Polyanky’s interests went far beyond his basic specialty: he was attracted first of all by that special powerful musical synthesis, which appears while merging choir with orchestra. The pianist’s CDs comprising works by Alexander Scriabin (Mirare, 2008) and Dmitri Shostakovich (Mirare, 2012) have been given the most prestigious awards of French musical critics, Diapason d'or, Diapason decouverte and Choc. Engagements for the current season include concerts in Paris (with Dmitry Makhtin and Alexander Knyazev), Lourmarin, Voronezh (with Vladimir Verbitsky), Saratov, Moscow (with Jana Ivanilova) and other cities.
