Provision is the third album by the British group Scritti Politti, released in June 1988. The album was the band's second top ten hit in the UK, reaching and was certified Gold by the BPI for 100,000 copies shipped.
Scritti Politti is the primary vehicle for Welsh singer/songwriter Green Gartside. Few figures in pop music can claim Gartside's distinctive credentials: an artist who began in London's subcutaneous underground in the late '70s but ultimately rose to the top of the . While the finished single of "The Sweetest Girl" did not appear for several months, sapping some of the momentum gained by the pre-release, the follow-up album, Songs to Remember, was issued to considerable critical acclaim in September 1981.
