The first single, "Once a Cowboy," was recently distributed to radio, and was co-written by Steele with BMI songwriters Shane Minor and former Poison front man Bret Michaels. During the festivities, BMI's David Preston surprised Steele with Million-Air certificates for his hits "I'm Tryin'," "Speed," "My Town," and "These Days.

Jeffrey LeVasseur (born August 27, 1961) is an American country music singer and songwriter, more commonly known by the name Jeffrey Steele. Along with recording his own material, Steele has become a prolific Nashville songwriter, having co-written more than sixty hit songs for such artists as Montgomery Gentry, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, LeAnn Rimes, Rascal Flatts, Billy Ray Cyrus, and others. Outlaw, on the Lofton Creek Records label His most successful single as a songwriter is his 2003 song "What Hurts the Most".
