Pete Shelley (born Peter Campbell McNeish; 17 April 1955 – 6 December 2018) was an English singer, songwriter and guitarist. He formed early punk band Buzzcocks with Howard Devoto in 1976, and was the lead singer and guitarist from 1977 when Devoto left, releasing "Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've)" in 1978. Apelidos: Peter McNeish. Variações: Visualizando tudo Pete Shelley.

Shelley, who has died of a heart attack aged 63, proved to be a songwriter of wit and subtlety, able to probe the angst and confusion of adolescent love and lust with shrewd insight. Gary Kemp of Spandau Ballet said: Pete was one of Britain’s best pure pop writers, up there with Ray Davies. Buzzcocks achieved success with their first recording, the Spiral Scratch EP, which was released on their own label, New Hormones, in January 1977 (the band having supported the Sex Pistols on their Anarchy tour in late 1976).

Pete Shelley (Peter Campbell McNeish, 17 April 1955 – 6 December 2018) was an English singer, songwriter and guitarist, best known as the leader of the punk band Buzzcocks. Shelley was born to Margaret and John McNeish at 48 Milton Street, in Leigh. Margaret was an ex-mill worker in the town, while John was a fitter at the nearby Astley Green Colliery. He had a younger brother, Gary.
