Jean Reinhardt (23 January 1910 – 16 May 1953) stage name Django Reinhardt (French: or ), was a Belgian-born Romani-French jazz guitarist and composer, regarded as one of the greatest musicians of the twentieth century. He was the first jazz talent to emerge from Europe and remains the most significant. With violinist Stéphane Grappelli, Reinhardt formed the Paris-based Quintette du Hot Club de France in 1934.

All that is given is the song listing. Nonetheless, Reinhardt manages to show off his prowess on every track of the album. Moppin' the Bride" is a fast-paced bit that allows the gypsy guitarist to make use of his fire-induced natural bottleneck thoroughly as he runs scales up and down. Others of the songs are slower numbers, such as "Danse Norvegienne," which allows the more romantic side of Reinhardt to show through. Heavy Artillery" is a fast-paced number that allows Reinhardt to show his full mastery over the instrument.

Gypsy Jazz Guitar virtuoso, Django Reinhardt. Here you get a good look at his crippled left hand. Django Reinhardt was arguably the greatest guitarist who ever lived, an important influence on Les Paul, Charlie Christian, . King, Jerry Garcia, Chet Atkins, and many others. Handsome, charismatic, childlike, and unpredictable, Reinhardt was a character out of a picaresque novel. Born in a gypsy caravan at a crossroads in Belgium, he was almost killed in a freak fire that burned half of his body and left his left hand twisted into a claw

Gypsy jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt was the first famous European jazz musician. Born in Belgium and raised in a gypsy camp near Paris, he first learned to play the violin, but later switched to banjo-guitar. At the age of 12, Django Reinhardt played good enough to play professionally. In 1928 disaster struck and the 3rd and 4th fingers of his left hand got mutilated in a caravan fire, but Django developed a new fingering system and by 1930 he was playing again in Paris’ cafes

I want to show you sort of a Django style comping. Definitely an old school way. You’ll hear it in jazz as well. I love this style of comping (Django, Freddie and the like), especially seeing as how I’ve long been a, lead challenged guitar player. I still work at it a little, but I’m a rhythm guy and I really like John’s jazz/comping lessons. By the way, it is super refreshing to see John always being happy and in a good mood. I’ve never enjoyed, or related to the, dark angry look of someone playing the guitar. The guitar is a beautiful instrument and I’m happy the moment I pick it up in the morning. Thanks for posting this!! Steve
