Chicago (sometimes referred to as Chicago II) is the second studio album by Chicago-based American rock band Chicago. Like their debut album, Chicago Transit Authority, this was a double album. It was their first album under the name Chicago (the band's prior name, Chicago Transit Authority, was changed due to a threatened lawsuit from the Chicago Transit Authority) and the first to use the now ubiquitous cursive Chicago logo on the cover

Presenting the 2019 Chicago Underground Film Festival Poster. Announcing the 2019 Festival Jury. The Chicago Underground Film Festival is thrilled to unveil our 2018 festival poster! April 18, 2018.

The underground talent in Chicago that you may not know of yet, that have all the right tools to get on the radar. These aren’t your Keefs or your Chances, or even your Mick Jenkins or your Towkios. While he’s still finding his footing as an artist, Phoelix’s penchant for sounds already puts him in an elite class. Not to mention, his last two offerings show tremendous growth already. With his network and skill, there’s no reason why everyone won’t know about Phoelix in 2018. This Pivot Gang veteran is not knew to the Chicago scene or to making music at all, but he has all the makings to be the next big thing on the map. Taking cues from Pivot frontrunner, Saba, MFnMelo has mastered the balance between intricate bars and making groovy records.

As the Chicago Underground Orchestra, this ensemble released several albums on Chicago's Delmark Records. Mazurek and Taylor continued to form groups under the Chicago Underground umbrella, performing as the Chicago Underground Duo, Chicago Underground Trio and Chicago Underground Quartet. The festival, which is normally held over three days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) in July, focuses primarily on artists and bands from alternative rock, hip hop, electronica, and dance music, although it has also ranged into hardcore punk, experimental rock, and jazz in its lineups. In addition to music, the Pitchfork Festival also includes food, beverages, art, and gig posters from local, regional, and national vendors. Slon is the third album from the Chicago Underground Trio. The album was released in January 2004 on Thrill Jockey Records.

Since the Chicago Underground collective expands or contracts with each project, they're also two-thirds of the Chicago Underground Trio and half of the Chicago Underground Quartet. Born in the 1990s out of the fertile Chicago improv scene, the group has, in its various permutations, produced a consistently excellent body of recorded music that mixes large amounts of improvisation with electronica, sampling, and a vast assortment of world music influences that are always organically absorbed-never self-consciously imitated. AAJ: Okay, the new Chicago Underground Duo CD is In Praise of Shadows. This is the first Chicago Underground record since the 2004 CD Slon and it's the first Duo CD since Axis and Alignment from 2002. The Duo configuration brings it down to the two principal players. When you get ready to do a new record, what motivates your choices?
