Label: Celebration of Blues. in Slide Guitar Blues. Great compilation of different types of slide players. Acoustic and electric. No contemporary slide album can be considered without Johnny Winter. He starts it off and all of the artists keep it going. I've bought albums by all the artists on it (except it's tough to find Paul James Band cd's) and all of them have top-notch albums - haven't been disappointed by any of it. Every song on this collection is a champ. Plus, the price is low.
Paramount Records was founded in 1917 by the Wisconsin Chair Company. During its time as a record company, Paramount recorded thousands of records by some of the biggest names in the business including Louis Armstrong, Ma Rainey, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Ethel Waters and many more. Paramount Records were an American record label that ran for 15 years from around 1917 onwards. The company were a subsidiary of the Wisconsin Chair Company who (amongst other things) originally made wooden phonograph cabinets. There is no ‘sturdy card slipcase’ for the contents of this set – the various elements that make up Volume One are collected in a handcrafted quarter-sawn oak cabinet with sage velvet upholstery and custom-forged metal hardware!! Inside this wonderfully lavish (and appropriate) setting are books, vinyl LPs and a USB stick.
