Why Marina Almost Quit Music & Public Life Forever - And What Brought Her Back. I remember thinking, I don’t want my face to be on anything. I don’t like anyone looking at m. Landon Peoples. I didn’t feel the same about music anymore or why I was motivated to be an artist, explains Diamandis, who retreated after the 2016 tour for her Froot album. The way I processed that was, Well, maybe I don’t want to have a job in public life anymore. I just remember thinking I don’t want my face to be on anything. I don’t like anyone looking at me - just a complete rejection of that, so I thought, Well, maybe I shouldn’t do this anymore.
Why Marina Almost Quit Music & Public Life Forever - And What Brought Her Back. The lyrics to Enjoy Your Life, from Marina Diamandis’ new album, Love & Fear, could serve as the soundtrack to your soul from here on out - at least, they should. Sit back and enjoy your problems, You don’t always have to solve them, she cheers. Cuz your worst days, they are over, So, enjoy your life, Yea, you might as well accept it, Don’t you waste your time regretting.
I feel like the business side of my brain and the artistic side of my brain are very equal. So when I was promoting it I realised, OK, this is why I don’t like being a pop star because people assume you don’t know anything and you don’t make your own music. I saw that change as soon as I dyed my hair blond and created music that had a different production style. You popped a new song online on New Year’s Day called Immortal that features the line everybody dies, everybody dies. I like to imagine a lot of hungover people crying into their coffee listening to that. Was that the intention? Kind of, yeah.
I felt like Marina and the Diamonds had just become this shell and I was trying to break free of it, the 33-year-old says, sitting on a couch in Atlantic Records’ New York office. I just felt completely blocked. She feels excited about the prospect of releasing music at her leisure instead of waiting for a new album cycle, and even though she misses being in school, the break made her finally appreciate the fact that she can comfortably leave and return to music as often as she wants. But don’t expect her to take another lengthy hiatus any time soon.
Marina and the Diamonds has confirmed that she has finished work on her fourth album and that it will be released in 2019. In an interview with PopBuzz, Marina explained: "I want to tell people details all the time but I can't because I have been planning it for ages. there is a concept in terms of how it's going to be released that you will find out in April but I am going to release a new song in January".

How To Make It in the New Music Business: Practical Tips on Building a Loyal Following and Making a Living as a Musician. I usually recommend this one or Everything You Better Know About the Music Business by Kashif depending upon the person's mentality. Let me tell you why because I believe that Passman's version provides you some quality, needed information from a business perspective and it is a little more technical and can be difficult to read while Kashif's version is much easier to read but offers advice from an artist perspective. I've read both books and both perspectives and can see the value from both sides.
