Now that I'm off my soapbox. The biggest thing that stands out while I read City of Bones was how inconsistent the writing was. It was so lazy and repetitive, information was handed over to us on a silver platter - there was no subtlety or any depth going on. But then there would be brief, short scenes or dialogues that actually made me laugh out.
