Pianist Chris Parker has replaced second guitarist Chris Cochrane - the first regular use of keyboards in a Curlew group since pianist Wayne Horvitz was a bandmember, briefly, back in 1986. Having a piano in the group (especially an acoustic piano) represents a fairly substantial change in Curlew's focus and direction. It pushes the music into a more mainstream jazz configuration, rather than the sometimes chaotic electric funk of the earlier groups

Recorded and mixed at the The Terrarium Studios, Minneapolis. Mastered at SAE Mastering, Phoenix.

The curlews (/ˈkɜːrljuː/), genus Numenius, are a group of eight species of birds, characterised by long, slender, downcurved bills and mottled brown plumage. The English name is imitative of the Eurasian curlew's call, but may have been influenced by the Old French corliu, "messenger", from courir, "to run" Þe corlue by kynde of þe eyre".

With her mate sitting on their nest, she jumped to the defense of their territory when a neighboring pair entered their area. we are only able to trap curlews if there is enough of a break in between showers and high winds, so keep your fingers crossed that the weather allows the team to get the job.
