American indie rock band The War on Drugs hasn’t released an album in over three years. Not since their Lost in the Dream in early 2014. So to now have the band releasing their third single from their upcoming new album A Deeper Understanding in as many months, I have to admit is kind of exciting. Especially when it is as hopeful as this one is. And I say hopeful because this third track from the new album is called ‘Strangest Thing‘ and is the first track lead singer Adam Granduciel says he wrote when he was first tossing ideas around for what the new music would sound like
About Strangest Thing lyrics. Album A Deeper Understanding (2017). I recognize every face But I ain't got everything I need If I'm just living in the space between The beauty and the pain It's the strangest thing. Yeah, should I surround my life Surrounded by a hole Surrounded by no other I wanna ride it home. Yeah be the writer of your own story Let it turn you onto love again Be the writer of your own story Let it turn you onto love again I wanna ride, I wanna ride.
The War on Drugs elevates the meaning of music; the title of this album is a perfect encapsulation of what's inside. 15 people found this helpful. After just a few spins, the new album from The War On Drugs lives up the expectations set by "Lost In a Dream. Namely, we get great music, with the same guitar fireworks, driving synth and piano, and steady rhythm section that Adam Granduciel and company deliver so well. Strangest Thing" is an amazing piece of American music. The steady intro section, the glorious middle part, and the go-home latter half are all pieces of rock 'n' roll perfection. A Deeper Understanding" is sad, and introspective, and hopeful at the same time.

Strangest Thing by The War On Drugs Released : 2017. Summer ride Howl at the day I’ve been hiding out so long I gotta find another way. Late at night I wanna see you Well my eyes, they begin to fade Am I just living in the space between The beauty and the pain And the real thing. Now the sky is painted In a wash of indigo I’ve been holding on too long In the howling of this cold. I recognize every face But I ain’t got everything I need If I’m just living in the space between The beauty and the pain It’s the strangest thing
