Lilies of the Field was a small film, aimed at general audiences. It was made in the early sixties and made Sidney Poitier a definite star. Jerry Goldsmith's music score, one of his first LP releases at the time, features a series of gentle themes in a bucholic setting very reminiscent of his later work for STAGECOACH, THE FLIM FLAM MAN and THE WALTONS.

The album features original score from the original animated 1992 Aladdin soundtrack by composer Alan Menken.

A soundtrack album is any album that incorporates music directly recorded from the soundtrack of a particular feature film or television show. The first such album to be commercially released was Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the soundtrack to the film of the same name, in 1938. The first soundtrack album of a film's orchestral score was that for Alexander Korda's 1942 film Jungle Book, composed by Miklós Rózsa.

The album reaches its most curious stretch in the middle, with 19 minutes of organ music. The passage toys with seriousness and levity, placing church music alongside a . Bach pastorale and fantasia. British organist Peter Hurford’s performance of the fantasia was even issued as a single, a fitting representation of The Favourite at large-a bit anachronistic, amusing, and idiosyncratic.

It’s not startling enough to justify the phenomenon, but I Have Nothing, Queen of the Night, Run to You, and especially her cover of I’m Every Woman are all first-rate urban pop songs that skillfully capture Houston at her best.
