Volume 18 highlights Rafael Romero, a native of Andujar in the province of Jaen, where there is now a street named for him. Romero was given the childhood nickname ''El Gallina,'' because he never stopped singing the children's song, La gallina papanata. At the end of the Civil War, he went to Madrid and met the great guitarist Perico el del Lunar who had an enormous influence on him; Romero began singing from one tablao to another, finally settling in at ''La Zambra. He toured abroad in the dance troupes of Vicente Escudero, Teresa and Luisillo,.

The new collection ?Flamenco Guitar. Treatise of Accompaniment to El Cante? in DVD format with booklet, reveals the secrets of the great master accompanists of flamenco, offering unique and innovative material in flamenco pedagogy. A luxury for those guitarists who were not contemporaries of the great flamenco singers or those of us who have not had the opportunity to accompany them. The masters included in this treatise are: Cantaores (The flamenco singers): Pepe de la Matrona, Juan Talega, Agujetas, Antonio Mairena Rafael Romero, Aurelio Sellés, Camarón, Fosforito, Enrique Morente.

One of the Romero family of guitarists, Pepe is a super virtuoso player with a piercing tone, a stinging attack, and an unstoppable feeling for rhythm. Joining him here are three performers so deep into the Flamenco tradition that they are indivisible from it: singer Chano Lobato plus dancers Maria Magdalena and Paco Romero. Together they turn in performances that are likely to stand as definitive
