Bloomsday is a commemoration and celebration of the life of Irish writer James Joyce, observed annually in Dublin and elsewhere on 16 June, the day his novel Ulysses takes place in 1904, the date of his first outing with his wife-to-be, Nora Barnacle, and named after its protagonist Leopold Bloom. The English compound word Bloomsday is usually used in Irish as well, though some publications call it Lá Bloom.

Studio recordings for A Day in the Life commenced 50 years ago, on January 19th, 1967. Here we look at 10 things you might not have known about the Fab Four’s most glorious achievement. 2. A Day in the Life was the first song recorded for what was intended as a concept album about childhood in Liverpool. Following the sessions for Strawberry Fields Forever and Penny Lane – which found Lennon and McCartney, respectively, looking back to their Liverpool childhoods – the band gave some thought to doing an album that fleshed out those themes of growing up in what had become England’s most famous port city. The Beatles were in a childhood frame of mind.

Notes on the "Reprise" and "A Day In The Life". journal on media culture ISSN 1567-7745. In context of the pop-rock album format I dare say that such a reprise is unprecedented. The concept is a sufficiently familiar one from the world of opera and musical stage show, but on a Beatles' album!? And, as is typical with Beatles' innovations of this sort, the gesture is not gratuitously novel; in the current instance, the reprise of the title track serves two critical functions: a unifying element for the album overall, and a boundary marker that importantly sets the following "A Day In The Life" off by itself, as it were, from the rest of the album.

The featured album and case has been altered in papers from the Bloom collection by Graphic 45. There are six fold out pages, each mounted on an extended hinge that allows them to lay flatter. I hate it when bands change between records," Scally admitted recently. hat's not the way we work. And he's right: Beach House haven't changed, or at least not much. Bloom doesn't stray far from the structure or the emotional tenor of its predecessor. Much of the power of Beach House's music lies in the way it forgoes simple, this-means-this storytelling in favor of communicating indescribable emotions. Still, Bloom has a definite thematic fascination with idle youth and the bittersweet residue that remains once it's gone. Troublemaker" looms with the threat of bad romance, and the brazen, epic "Wild"- one of their best songs yet- conjures teenage feelings of boredom, broken homes ("Our father won't come home, 'cause he is seeing double"), and the inordinate amounts of faith placed in the things that take someone out of those particular hells.

Album Bloom – EP. Bloom Lyrics. In the morning when I wake And the sun is coming through Oh, you fill my lungs with sweetness And you fill my head with you Shall I write it in a letter? Shall I try to get it down? Oh, you fill my head with pieces Of a song I can't get out. Can I be close to you? Ooh-oo-oo-ooh, ooh-oo-oo-ooh Can I be close to you? Ooh-oo-oo-ooh, ooh-oo-oo-ooh. Can I take you to a moment Where the fields are painted gold? And the trees are filled with memories Of the feelings never told? When the evening pulls the sun down And the day is almost.
