Instant Sunshine is a comedy musical cabaret group who sing to an acoustic guitar accompaniment. It was formed in 1966 by three doctors at St. Thomas' Hospital in London, Peter Christie, David Barlow and Alan Maryon-Davis. In 1972 they were joined by the journalist and double bass player Miles Kington. In 1998 Kington left the group and Tom Barlow joined in his place for several years. Peter Christie is the leading spirit and writes the words and music. Their style has been compared to Flanders and Swann. They produced five vinyl LPs: "Live at Tiddy Dols" (Page One 1968), "Instant Sunshine" (EMI 1976), "Funny Name for a Band" (EMI 1977) "Reasonably Together Again" (EMI/One-Up 1979) and "The Instant Sunshine LP - Songs for struggling supergroups" (EMI/NTS 1980).

There were plenty of weird hits in the '90s, but there is absolutely nothing normal about Steal My Sunshine," from Len’s genre to its famous sampled riff. And don’t even start us on the lyrics. This contradiction has made for a strange career that opened electrifying raves with early floor anthems like Go as a DJ, before cycling through genres as disparate as ambient and punk rock not too many years later. It also serves as a fitting setup to his fifth album Play, which indeed famously turned non-electronic music-namely sampled field recordings of gospel hymns from Alan Lomax’s Sounds of the South collection-into electronic music.

KC and the Sunshine Band is the second studio album by KC and the Sunshine Band. The record was produced by Harry Wayne Casey and Richard Finch and was released in July 1975 on the TK label. KC and the Sunshine Band contains two of the group's biggest hits, "That's the Way (I Like It)" and "Get Down Tonight". Both songs reached no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the R&B Singles Chart. The album was remastered and reissued with bonus tracks in 2012 by Big Break Records.

They produced five vinyl LPs: "Live at Tiddy Dols" (Page One 1968), "Instant Sunshine" (EMI 1976), "Funny Name for a Band" (EMI 1977) "Reasonably Together Again" (EMI/One-Up 1979) and "The Instant Sunshine LP - Songs for struggling supergroups" (EMI/NTS 1980).
