Опубликовано: 2013-04-27 Продолжительность: 43:27 Lost Horizon are a power metal, progressive metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden. They went under the name Highlander from 1990 until 1994 (with Joacim Cans on vocals and other future HammerFall members) before the band was put on hold. Reformed in the late nineties, briefly under the same name, before changing it to Lost Horizon. The band is Swedish but Wojtek Lisicki is from Poland. Onstage and in photoshoots, Lost Horizon are seen wearing studded leather, cloaks, bare chests and face paint
With this album, Lost Horizon joined such exalted company, and they did so in style. Stagnation of an entire genre is a terrible thing. Not only is it hard on the fans, but it also ends in the death of that genre, as we saw with grunge in the early '90s. Yet, in 2001, courtesy of Music for Nations, the proof of their declaration was delivered, in the form of Awakening The World. Opening with thunderous accompaniment, The Quickening begins this album in magnificent fashion: with music that sounds exactly like its implication: a journey through the cosmos towards the ultimate truth. Succeeding this intro is perhaps the album's strongest song: Heart Of Storm
Much like Manowar, Lost Horizon probably dreams of, well, 'awakening the world' or 'fighting the world' and enlightening people. They're also like Manowar because of their album covers, which feature the members of the band. Nuff said about that. So there it is, Awakening The World, one of my all-time top Heavy Metal albums. The only factors keeping it from a perfect "100%" is that fact that the album is perhaps a little short (would one more song really have hurt?) and the fact that track 5 doesn't quite scale the highs of the rest of the songs.
