Spanning jazz, country, hip-hop and soul music, the best gospel songs of all time prove that the spirit can move you, no matter what your tastes. Aretha Franklin was only 14 when she recorded the 1956 album Songs Of Faith (later reissued in 1983 as Aretha Gospel) at the New Bethel Baptist Church, where her father was the reverend. Among the remarkable performances is her version of this hymn by the English 18th-century hymn writer and poet William Cowper.

Songs of Faith is a live album by American singer Aretha Franklin. It was released in 1965 by Checker Records. The album was recorded live in 1956 by J-V-B Records at New Bethel Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan, when Franklin was aged 14. Aretha Franklin's recording career began in 1956 with the help of local record label J-V-B Records.

Featuring award-winning Christian artist Sandi Patty, this songbook is a powerful collection of 22 hymns and treasured classics. Includes piano score, melody line and chord symbols.
