It angered him playing in bars where people didn’t care what he had to say, only paying attention to how it sounded. Bruce wanted to draw attention to his lyrics. Doing this, brought on the comparison to being the New Dylan, which Bruce immediately tried to shake with the follow up album The Wild, The Innocent, & The E Street Shuffle.
