The Professionals was going to be the debut album of the rock band the Professionals. It was originally scheduled for release in 1980 by Virgin Records. However, a legal dispute with bassist Andy Allan over unpaid royalties led to the album being scrapped and re-recorded as I Didn't See It Coming.
2007 The Provisionals. You look like someone who appreciates good music.
The Provisionals are a four-piece band from San Fransico who I will have to classify as an alternative rock, indie rock band, a genre as ambiguous and unspecific as the band's music. The sound kind of like the Walkmen (who are one of their top friends on the social networking site) but one could just as easily compare them to Death Cab for Cutie, Interpol, Spoon, Clinic or any other indie rock band from the early to mid-aughts with equal accuracy. That being said, I am not sure I would want to pay money for E Is Rooks. This is not a bad album by any means, just an unremarkable one: pleasant to a fault, offensively friendly and almost devoid of noticeable personalty. There are three types of bands: Those that bring something to the table; those that take something off the table; and those that simply sit.
35 years later, the band formed from the ashes of the Sex Pistols by Paul Cook and Steve Jones is back. Revitalised, re-energised and reinvigorated, the band proudly release their new album What In The World on October 27th 2017, on Automaton Records. What In The World bristles with conviction and finds The Professionals on electrifying form, delivering some of the most ballsy, honest and downright brilliant songs of their career. We’re not breaking any musical boundaries – we’re doing what we do best.
