Both scores have been transferred from very clean sources and reveal far more detail than the old vinyl pressings of either, though Billion Dollar Brain rather makes this an essential acquisition, as the movie for which it was written has not been (and has very chance of ever being) released on home video, as of 2002.

Billion Dollar Brain is a very entertaining yarn with a terrific cast and an absolutely stellar score by Richard Rodney Bennett. Mr. Bennett had already done the brilliant score for John Schlesinger's film of Far From The Madding Crowd (Oscar nomination), and would follow this film with a series of memorable scores for many films. His score for Billion Dollar Brain is filled with wonderful energy and great themes (none more so than the electric main title theme), and is one of the highlights in a career filled with them.

Flow Records proudly presents Nanoplex - The Billion Dollar Brain debut album  . The album features eight genre twisting tracks, combining elements of techno, house and progressive all with a psychedelic edge, neatly joining the dots between the festival and club scenes. Intricate production techniques and a keen eye for detail are what set the Nanoplex sound apart as they strive to take their sound to places that have not been explored by their contemporaries.

Definitely not as good as the Ipcress File, but still worth a look as an interesting 1960's period piece. It's the familiar Cold War story though this time Deighton has introduced a slightly more inventive, albeit fantastic plot. As it's the late 1960's, when sophisticated computers were becoming in vogue, expect the usual enormous mainframe with lots of flashing lights, reel to reel memory banks, clackerty-clack machines which spew paper.
